South Windsor, CT – James Meyer of Meyer Gage announced today that the company is now offering class “Z” plug gages at the same price as the class “ZZ” gage pins. The Z tolerance gage, which will give users twice the accuracy, is available in various combinations, ranging from .011″ to 1.000″ English and .21mm to 25.41mm Metric. James Meyer, VP Marketing, says, “Meyer has always been a leader in manufacturing the best plug gages in the business. We are working on programs that will continue to bring to the market broader selections of different gage sets at every level of accuracy. Our goal is to offer better quality, with value added service, at reasonable prices”.

Meyer expects that their offering of the Z gage will become the standard of the industry. The class ZZ will be phased out completely, and replaced with the Z tolerance. The Meyer Z will have all of the features that made the Meyer ZZ, since 1965, the finest gage available for the money: All gages and sets are traceable to NIST and made in the USA. Boxes and gages are both marked. Size and serial number are laser etched on each piece. Centerless lapped 52100 bearing steel heat-treated to a hardness of 60-62 Rockwell with an 8 micro-inch finish or better. Meyer adds, “We are plug gage specialists selling to a segment of the market that demands the most consistent high level quality at sensible prices. And, we never forget it.”
