QUALITY - NEW MEYER GAGE CALIBRATION LABORATORY
As
of October 29, 2010, Meyer Gage Company Inc is extremely
pleased to provide calibration and final inspection services
with new instrumentation capabilities reaching dimensional
accuracy levels down to a mere 2 millionths(0.05 microns) of
an inch as part of our continuous improvement program.
Meyer Gage has recently completed construction of a
dedicated, fully-automated climate controlled inspection
room to promote the highest levels of gaging and measurement
reliability standards while delivering the lowest level of
measurement uncertainty than any other time in our 50 year
history.
We've installed a Pratt & Whitney LabMaster Universalฎ
laser-based universal length measuring (ULM) system for gage
calibration that can precisely measure: length
taper outside diameter inside diameter pitch
diameter major/minor diameter linear displacement
lead thickness
The ULM system maintains ultra-high accuracy by fully
integrating a laser interferometer, zero Abbe offset design,
and a large measuring table with center position, height,
pitch, and yaw controls.
The Pratt & Whitney proprietary system helps remove
operator-influenced errors commonly observed with
traditional gaging methods, by using a computer-controlled,
precision air-bearing slide and gaging fingers to maintain
a constant force during measurement.
The Labmaster Universal (LM U306270) is suitable for
virtually all internal (ID) and external (OD) measuring
applications within a range of 0.020-inch (0.5 mm) to
14-inches (356 mm).
Some of the new ULM measuring capabilities include:
gage blocks pin & plug gages tapered plugs
end standards snap gages plain rings, threaded
rings & plugs cylindrical setting gages API gages
micrometers, indicators, LVDTs, calipers
The Labmaster Universal uses Pratt & Whitney's GageCalฎ
software that automatically enters tolerances for:
rings plugs pins balls threads
(calculates pitch/major diameter)
The ULM and GageCal software combination also flags
out-of-tolerance conditions.
To sustain these high levels of reliability, this
inspection station is housed within a new 20' x 44'
laboratory which includes a custom designed HVAC system with
a microprocessor-based environmental management system to
allow for more precise temperature and humidity control.
This new addition to our South Windsor, CT facilities can
deliver some of the highest levels of gaging and measurement
reliability in the industry. Meyer Gage has positioned
itself to bring new levels of quality to our customers now,
within 50 nanometers of precision.
